The Institution of Engineers in Scotland
Tuesday 10th February at 6.30pm
Royal Faculty of Procurators in Glasgow (RFPG), 12 Nelson Mandela Pl, Glasgow G2 1BT

Lecture on The Semiconductor industry in Scotland

It is not often you will have the chance to hear from such a legendary figure in the world of microelectronics, an engineer who co-founded Scotland’s first university spin out company, who developed world leading electronic components which are so widespread you are likely to have some in your possession. He was inducted into the Scottish Engineering Hall of Fame in 2024.

Dr David Milne will present a lecture to IES on Tuesday 10th Feb. He will describe the semiconductor industry in Scotland from its origins in the early 1970’s to the present day including of course Wolfson Microelectronics which is now Cirrus Logic. David will then consider the impact of government policy and the need for a better Scottish economic performance.
