IPowerE Annual Luncheon

Technology Seminar & 76th Annual Luncheon

Powering the future:
the contribution of proven and emerging technologies

Thursday 3 April 2025
Chelsea Harbour Hotel, London SW10 0XG

Another successful Technology Seminar took place on 3rd April and included an insightful keynote session from Vikash Ahuja from Baringa and also presentations on the Latest on battery energy storage systems, including optimisation strategies and market dynamics from Modo Energy, Offshore wind O&M by Generating Better, Small scale SMR from Last Energy and Future Plans for the CCGT Fleet – How Realistic? from Watt-Logic.

This year our Principal Guest and Industry Speaker was Dan McGrail, CEO of RenewableUK, Board Member of WindEurope and former CEO of Siemens Engines.  As Managing Director of Siemens Power Generation from 2014-2017, he expanded Siemens UK’s activities in the thermal power market.  He became CEO of Siemens Engines in November 2017, leading the rebranding of the company and helping to secure significant growth.  He has also just been appointed interim CEO of Great British Energy – the UK Government initiative to drive forward their “Plan for Change”.

Our Guest Speaker was Martin Hibbert, one of the closest people to the Manchester Arena bombing in 2017.  Martin’s story of determination and positivity since suffering such catastrophic injuries was truly inspiring.  Despite the severity of his injuries, he has since taken on many challenges to raise funds for the Spinal Injury Association including hand-cycling to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.
